When heavy loads and high
voltages are present in stationary applications, heavy duty standoffs
are required. They provide an effective means of supporting large electrical
components such as bussbars or capacitors. When hostile environments
are present, convolutions or petticoats can be provided on the glazed
surface of the insulator. Clear glaze is standard on all exposed ceramic
surfaces, with brown or white glaze available upon request. Permanent
marking under the glaze is also an option.
The metal end caps used to provide attachment to your devices are available
plated or unplated in brass, aluminum, stainless steel or galvanized
iron. They are permanently cemented to the ceramic insulator. Threaded
holes in any configuration can be produced.
Two style bases are used for the heavy duty standoffs. One is elliptical
while the other is round. The round bases are used on the larger diameter
standoffs in order to support heavy loads. Materials are the same as
for the caps.
